POST LOGIC PROVIDES FX FOR NBC'S 'STORM'

Post Logic's VFX supervisor Boyd Stepan worked closely with the production company, Larry Levinson Productions (LLP), creating 2D animatics of the visual effects shots. Once they were approved, they were sent to Prime Focus India to use as references while developing the full shots.

According to Stepan, there was a four-day turnaround for VFX shots. Once the early versions were approved, LLP assembled a rough cut of the show, which Stepan and LLP VFX supervisor Tony Roman hand-carried to Mumbai.

"We were in Mumbai for two weeks," Stepan notes. "As final versions of the shots were completed, Tony and I would sit in a Final Cut Pro edit bay, cut them back into the rough cut and send them to the LLP execs for final approval. It was a great experience, and allowed us to lay the groundwork for future projects."
