SUPER BOWL: BONGO CREATE ORIGINAL TRACK FOR NFL SPOT

The :30 Run follows a player over the course of a year and was shown at the stadium and on NFL.com, NFLMobile, and NFL Network. It will air nationally during the Pro Bowl game in Hawaii the week following Super Bowl XLIII.

Run shows a player training for the upcoming season. As he jogs, the background changes to reflect the NFL draft, training camp and opening day. Bongo created original music and sound design for the commercial, as well as edited a U2 track for a second version of the same spot that did air on NBC during the game.

According to Bongo creative director/CEO Bob L. Smith, the band set certain parameters, which specified that the track could only be  used during the NBC broadcast of the game. This offered an opportunity for Bongo to create an original track for the other outlets. The final result is a modern, pulsating soundtrack that uses design hits to bring out the background action.

Motion Theory, in Venice, CA, produced and posted the commercial, and Lime, in Santa Monica, handled the final mix. String's Doron Dor cut the spot.
