HYBRIDE CREATES VFX FOR 'PREDATORS'

Many of the shots the Hybride team worked on involved CG Predator Hounds, which are used to flush out their prey. In addition to creating the Predator Hounds, Hybride created elements that helped the characters to interact with their environment. Artists replaced real leaves and debris with CG greenery.

The studio also designed various weapons for the film, as well as produced transitions used for the Predators’ cloaking effects. Other CG effects included Ram Runners, insects, parachutes, holograms, targets, alien skies, blood, fire and residual smoke. Hybride performed set extensions for the film, as well as handled cables and wire removal.

Among the tools Hybride used to pull off the effects included Flame, Smoke, Fusion, XSI, SynthEyes, Zbrush, Maya and RealFlow. The studio’s work represents 27 minutes of screen time and was completed over a five-month period.
