IRELAND'S WINDMILL LANE MOVES INTO NEW SPACE
March 18, 2010
Two of the rooms are designed for 5.1 work, while the third is a stereo room. Each features natural lighting and its own voiceover booth. The studio has standardized on Digidesign Pro Tools and a D Command console. The rooms feature Genelec speakers and meet the Dolby specification. Windmill Lane has Neumann microphones, Focusrite amps and TC Electronic Finalizers. The two main studios also have JVC HD100 projectors.

Windmill Lane opened in 1979 and has a rich history of music production. U2 recorded “Boy” (1980), “October” (1981) and “War” (1983) at Windmill Lane. The music studios were sold by Windmill Lane Pictures in 1990 and moved to Ringsend Road. Since then, Windmill Lane Pictures has become one of Ireland’s leading film, television, digital communications and creative services companies.
