JVC to host THX calibration workshop
November 19, 2010

CYPRESS, CA — JVC Professional Products Company will host a THX Professional Video Systems Calibration certification workshop (www.thxvideotech.com) December 7-9, at its facility here. The three-day workshop includes two days of hands-on calibrating exercises, where attendees will work with professional calibration equipment on more than a dozen different displays, including LCD and plasma panels, DLP and LCD projectors, high-end video processors, and a variety of Blu-ray and DVD players.

Once certified, THX trained Professional Video Systems Calibrators can use the THX mark for advertising and offer THX Calibrated Display services to their customers. Certified calibrators also receive a “THX Calibrated” plaque and certificate, as well as an exclusive listing on the THX.com Website. Those who complete the course are also registered to access the THX Video Calibrators’ forum, an online community with industry information and a Q&A forum for support in the field.

The workshop will be conducted by Gregg Loewen, lead THX video standards instructor and president of Maine-based Lion Audio Video Consultants, Inc. The course rate has been reduced to $1,495 for a limited time and space is limited.
