NAB: GENARTS SHOWING AE & SMOKE TOOLS

Monsters was previously only available for high-end compositing systems from Autodesk and Quantel. This new GT release extends the same opportunity for creativity to motion graphics artists using Adobe After Effects. Monsters GT is compatible with Adobe CS5 and features a revamped user interface, along with full GPU and floating point support to maximize image quality. The package includes tools for creating stylized effects such as CCTV, NightVision and brush warps; distorted effects, such as HeatHaze, puddle and ripple; particle effects, such as rain, smoke and snow; and both fluid and trail effects.

GenArts Monsters GT for After Effects will be available in May for $999 with a choice of either node-locked or floating licenses.

Also new is Sapphire 5 for Adobe After Effects. A 64-bit release, this too has been re-written to support GPU acceleration and floating point, providing faster render speeds and the highest image quality available. Sapphire provides users with tools for creating glows, light rays, lens flares, lightning, film damage, fire and fluid effects.

Sapphire 5 for Adobe After Effects will be available in June with floating licenses priced at $2,499 and node-locked licenses available for $1,699.

And for users of Autodesk’s recently-released Smoke on Mac, GenArts has introduced a GPU-accelerated Sapphire version that provides all of the functionality of its original Smoke-oriented release. New effects including TVDamage and Technicolor, as well as a number of transitions. Pricing will be $3,999 when it ships in Q2.
