NAB: SGL SHOWS FINAL CUT SERVER ARCHIVE SOLUTION

Final Cut Server is Apple’s media asset management solution for Final Cut Pro and provides a proxy-based workflow. By adding SGL’s FlashNet archive solution to the Final Cut Server environment, post facilities can significantly improve and speed up their workflows by managing the available free space on shared storage that is traditionally reserved for “work in progress.”

All archive-related actions are performed directly from the Final Cut Server user interface, and all types of FCS material —  assets, projects or productions — can be archived to the SGL FlashNet content management system. FCS automatically generates low-resolution proxies of the original content, enabling users to locate archived or online material quickly. Editors restore content directly from the FCS interface via standard menus. This integration of the archive and restore functionality into the FCS interface relieves editors from having to learn additional software.

FlashNet’s open system architecture allows the solution to easily be expanded.
