LOS ANGELES – Both the LA Times and CNN have reported on the death of director Quentin Tarantino's longtime film editor, Sally Menke, 56, who was found after going on a hike in the extreme heat on Monday with her dog. Menke worked on such movies as Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Jackie Brown. No cause of death was immediately reported, and the coroner is looking into whether or not the heat was a factor.
"Sally was a tremendous person, collaborator and friend,’ says Todd-AO re-recording mixer Mike Minkler. “Two years younger than me, I often called her ‘mom’ because she always exuded such warmth, intelligence, passion and care. I will forever miss her."
