Technicolor/Paramount complex to open next summer

HOLLYWOOD - Paramount Pictures has completed the structure that will house its new post production facility on its Hollywood lot. The nearly 90,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in the summer of 2011 and will become the centerpiece of The Studio at Paramount’s (www.thestudiosatparamount.com) post production complex, providing a complete range of services for filmed entertainment, broadcast and commercial productions.

Technicolor (www.technicolor.com) is Paramount’s partner in the development and operations of the facility, and will expand its range of post services as well as the company’s overall footprint in Hollywood through the new complex. The Technicolor operations will feature latest digital infrastructure for providing sound services for film, television and commercials. In addition, the facility will be networked, via the Technicolor Production Network, to Technicolor’s global facilities. This will allow producers to access the company’s array of post services remotely, including color grading and digital intermediate services, review and approval suites for VFX, digital encoding and delivery services.

The building will also feature 15,000 square feet of new editorial and production office space, which will be operated by The Studios at Paramount.
