Technicolor helps Warner Bros. deliver 3D Blu-ray titles

HOLLYWOOD — Technicolor ( has provided compression, authoring and 3D subtitling services for numerous Warner Home Video Blu-ray 3D titles, including Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, Clash of the Titans and The Polar Express. The studio provided similar services for IMAX home video titles, such as IMAX: Deep Sea 3D, IMAX Under the Sea 3D and IMAX: Space Station 3D.

Technicolor provided full turn-key Blu-ray 3D services using its high-quality MVC compression tool, as well as 3D authoring and programming with BD-JIVE, and used its depth analysis tool for 3D subtitles and graphics. All of the tools were developed in-house.

Warner Bros.’s 3D releases are among the most by any studio this year. Its entire slate of 3D titles arrived in stores on November 16, 2010, coinciding with National Blu-ray 3D Day.
