V-Ray 2.0 for 3DS Max begins beta

SOFIA, BULGARIA — Chaos Group (www.chaosgroup.com) begins the final beta stage for its V-Ray 2.0 for 3DS Max today. The rendering solution combines the power of the V-Ray rendering engine with the flexibility and speed of the V-Ray RT interactive rendering system, which now runs on GPUs.

The V-Ray 2.0 for 3DS Max Beta program is open to all V-Ray users who have been among the first to upgrade to the new version, customers who own bundle Three in One, and those who have preordered V-Ray 2.0. The official release in planned for December 6. New features include VRayCarPaintMtl for accurate flakes simulation; VRayLightSelect render element to extract the contribution of individual lights; and VRayLensEffect, for producing glow and glare with support for obstacle images and diffraction.
