VES seeks student submissions
November 2, 2010

LOS ANGELES — The Visual Effects Society (www.visualeffectssociety.com) is now accepting submissions for its annual Student Award, which is being sponsored by Autodesk. The deadline for submissions is November 30, and the winning student will receive the award at the 9th Annual VES Awards Show, scheduled to take place on January 28, 2011 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

The Student Award recognizes outstanding achievement in visual effects on any project that was created by a student or group of students while attending an accredited school. Qualified students are encouraged to send in their submissions before the deadline.

The winning student will be provided with free airfare and two night’s accommodation to attend the show, along with one license of either the Autodesk Maya Entertainment Creation Suite Premium or the Autodesk 3DS Max Entertainment Creation Suite 3D visual effects software. Both suites include Autodesk MotionBuilder and Mudbox. The Premium Suite includes Autodesk Softimage.
