Co3 & Method streamline Stereo 3D workflow
June 15, 2011

SANTA MONICA — Company 3 and sister facility Method Studios (www.bydeluxe.com) are now offering a seamless workflow for stereoscopic 3D feature film digital intermediates. Filmmakers now have the option to have any portion of left/right eye alignment fixes addressed within Method's stereography division.

Company 3 has provided color services to a number of stereoscopic releases, including Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Fright Night. Pirates, Transformers and Fright Night have all taken advantage of this tandem service.

"When you work in stereo, there are always certain discrepancies between the two eyes," explains Steven Shapiro, lead stereographer and director of software and pipeline at Method. The Company 3/Method collaboration allows clients to maximize the close relationship between the two companies, who share a building on Santa Monica's Arizona Ave.

This new service follows Deluxe Entertainment Services Group's recent acquisition of the StereoD business. Deluxe acquired Company 3 and Method from Ascent Media Corporation last fall.
