FFV previews camera-mountable DVR
April 13, 2011

LAS VEGAS — Fast Forward Video (www.ffv.com) introduced the SideKick HD at NAB, a multi-format, straight-to-edit, camera-mountable digital video recorder. The unit captures HD video from HD/SDI or HDMI outputs at rates up to 220Mbit/s with 4:2:2 sampling and 10-bit resolution in the ProRes codec. By recording to the NLE format, the DVR eliminates the transcoding step, saving time and eliminating a degradation of image quality.

The SideKick HD records video onto 2.5-inch solid state SATA drives. The unit is equipped with a 4.3-inch on-board monitor and offers playback options such as scrub and jog. Pricing will be slightly over $2K, and the unit will be available in the next month.
