IBC: Facilis upgrades TerraBlock SAN
September 9, 2011

AMSTERDAM — Facilis Technology (www.facilis.com), a provider of shared storage solutions, is unveiling Version 5.2 of its TerraBlock SAN at the IBC show. The new software release delivers enhanced performance and flexibility through data protection and load balancing, inter-server mirroring, and multi-user write spanned volumes.

TerraBlock is a high-capacity, multiplatform, shared storage system supporting 4 & 8 Gb Fibre and 1 & 10 Gb Ethernet through the Facilis Shared File System. The new FastRAID Inter-server mirroring feature maintains an exact copy of volume data in realtime on another enclosure. The FastRAID multi-user write spanned volumes helps balance loads and increase performance. Users can now assign priority to drive recovery activities or client workload and pause recovery entirely for full bandwidth to client workstations. In addition, multi-seat Adobe Premiere studios can now open the same project on multiple workstations without conflict or overwrite

TerraBlock 5.2 is planned for availability in October as a free download to customers with current support contracts.
