MPC building Vancouver facility

VANCOUVER — Film VFX house MPC (www.moving-picture.com ) is building a new 38,000 square-foot facility in Vancouver’s Yaletown district. The building is currently in the second stage of development and will be home to 300 artists when it’s completed in early 2012. It will feature the same tools and pipeline and the company’s London location.

At the upcoming SIGGRAPH show in Vancouver, three of the studio’s experts will provide insight into the techniques and technology used by the company. The presentations will look at the work that the studio provided for the films Sucker Punch, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

MPC’s recruitment team will also be at the booth, looking for talented and creative individuals to join its worldwide team. The company has plans to increase capacity to handle upcoming jobs that include Prometheus, Wrath of the Titans, World War Z, 47 Ronin, Journey 2, Jack the Giant Killer and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
