Nola Pictures launches animation division
August 2, 2011

NEW YORK — Media-services studio Nola Pictures (www.nolapictures.com) has launched a full-service animation division, dubbed NolaMola. The division was born in part from the work the company did for Louise Bourgeois in 2008, specifically the animated short The Spider, by director Juan Delcan.

Nola Pictures has affiliate offices in France, Canada and Chile, and offers turnkey production solutions from shoot through editorial and post. The new animation effort can handle projects large and small and is looking to collaborate with fine artists. It’s currently working on a collaborative film inspired by the work of Kiki Smith.

In addition to Delcan, the crew includes JJ Wilmoth, who will head up production. Nola has worked on animation for commercial projects for clients that include Pfizer, Chilevision, De Beers, CFDA, JetBlue, and Sundance Channel.
