The Mill moves into new LA space, adds to team

CULVER CITY, CA — Visual effects studio The Mill LA (www.themill.com) has moved into a new office in Culver City’s Blackwelder Arts District. Located at 3233 S. La Cienega Blvd., the 24,000-square-foot studio includes a new telecine division, which is being headed up by colorist Adam Scott. Scott joins the LA office from The Mill London and brings with him nearly 20 years of experience grading commercials, promos, TV and film projects. The telecine division is equipped with the newly released Dolby Pro Reference Monitor and  FilmLight’s Baselight 4 color grading system.

In addition to Scott, Paul O’Shea has joined The Mill LA as VFX supervisor. He recently worked on Tony Scott’s Unstoppable. VFX supervisor/3D lead artist Andrew Proctor joins The Mill LA after working at both The Mill London and New York. He has contributed to a long list of projects, including AT&T’s Spring and Daft Punk’s Derezzed. Sarah Eim joins the studio as a lead Flame artist. Her credits include the award-winning Coca-Cola Heist spot. 

In total, The Mill LA’s team includes 60 full-time staff members. The team is made up of producers, 3D artists, 2D artists, designers, colorists and engineers. In addition to the new color suite, the studio’s space includes multiple conference rooms, a media reference library, CG work space and project rooms, a full kitchen and second-floor sundeck.
