VFX provider Rising Sun gains US presence
March 8, 2011

ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA — Rising Sun Pictures has hired Marc Sadeghi, naming him executive VP and head of business development and marketing. The appointment is part of an effort by Rising Sun Pictures to deepen its ties with Hollywood movie studios and assume a position among top ranked visual effects providers.

Sadeghi was formerly a lead executive at The Orphanage, and brings broad experience as a feature film executive and executive producer for visual effects. His credits include work on Iron Man, Pirates of the Caribbean (2 & 3) and Sin City. His hiring will give the company a permanent presence in the US for the first time, and his duties will include serving as RSP’s worldwide sales effort, as well as overseeing studio relations.

In addition to his time at The Orphanage, Sadeghi was co-founder and principal of Zero VFX, a Boston-based VFX house specializing in commercials and features.

Rising Sun Pictures has been a visual effects contributor to the films Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Parts I & II), X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Terminator: Salvation.
