VFX vet Carey Villegas returns to Digital Domain

VENICE, CA — Digital Domain ( www.digitaldomain.com) has hired veteran visual effects supervisor Carey Villegas. Villegas was nominated for a 2010 visual effects Oscar for work on Alice in Wonderland. He has contributed to more than 30 features throughout his 19-year career.

Villegas spent 11 years at Sony Pictures Imageworks, where he was a VFX supervisor on Cast Away, Hancock, Bad Boys II,  The Forgotten and I Spy, among others. His new position marks a return to Digital Domain, where he worked as a compositing supervisor early in his career on films such as Fight Club, What Dreams May Come and Titanic.

In addition to being a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Villegas is also a member of the Visual Effects Society, the International Animated Film Society, and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.
