January 25, 2012

LONDON — Double Negative, which won an Oscar in 2011 for its work on Inception, has been nominated for a Visual Effects Oscar for the studio’s contributions to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. David Vickery, Double Negative’s VFX supervisor on the film, was named in the nomination, along with Tim Burke, Greg Butler and John Richardson.

Alex Hope, managing director at the studio, says, "The competition is very steep again this year and we are genuinely honored to reach this stage. Everyone at Dneg is tremendously proud of the work we create and I know they will join me in wishing all the nominees good luck."

The 2012 Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, February 26 in Los Angeles.
