Hackenbacker recognized again with Emmy nom

LONDON — Audio post house Hackenbacker (www.hackenbacker.com) has received an Emmy nomination for its work on Carnival Films/Masterpiece’s Downton Abbey. The studio is being recognized in the “Outstanding Sound Mixing” category.

Downton Abbey Series Two explores the effects of the First World War on the intertwined lives of the Crawley family and the servants who work for them. This second series of Julian Fellowes' drama features all the regular cast, including Dame Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt and Dan Stevens.

Nigel Heath, founder and director of Hackenbacker, says, "Everyone at Hackenbacker worked very hard to ensure that the audio for Series Two met the same high standards as Series One, for which we won a BAFTA, as well as an Emmy nomination. The fact that the producers returned to us for the second series indicated their confidence in our ability to deliver great audio. I am so pleased that the immense effort and hard work of the whole sound team, which includes Alex Fielding, Oliver Brierley and Keith Partridge, has been recognized by this nomination.”

The Primetime Emmy Awards will be held in September.
