Re:think posts NFL Draft promos for ESPN

CHICAGO — Re:think Studios (www.rethinkstudios.tv) recently completed broadcast spots that promoted ESPN’s primetime broadcast of the 2012 NFL Draft. Re:think partnered with agency The Vault NYC to concept and produce the visual effects and CGI heavy promos.

The promos showcased top NFL Draft prospects Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, Trent Richardson and Justin Blackmon passing a football from rooftop to rooftop in New York City, where the NFL Draft took place. Re:think’s editor Jessica Simmon combed through hours of ESPN broadcast footage to find the best game footage of the players. Head of CGI/creative director Brian Bullock traveled to Manhattan to direct the city skyline component of the promos, along with shots of Times Square and Radio City Music Hall. The game footage was rotoscoped and composited with the city footage along with CGI that includes players’ names in lights, rooftop elements and CGI signage showcasing ESPN analysts, players and the NFL Draft logo.

Re:think handled production, CGI, visual effects, color, finishing and worked with Audio Producers Group (www.apgaudio.com) for the sound design and mix. The promos made use of Cee Lo Green’s “Bright Lights Bigger City” track.
