January 23, 2013
SUNNYVALE, CA — Cogswell College (www.cogswell.edu/) has hired 17-year film and video game industry veteran Jerome Solomon as assistant professor in the Digital Arts & Animation department. He will teach courses in gaming and animation, as well as advise on student-based projects and initiatives.

Solomon’s film credits include work on Avatar, Shrek 2, Madagascar and Babe. His game title credits include Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, The Godfather Game and Tiger Woods 07. His career includes positions at Industrial Light and Magic, DreamWorks Animation, Electronic Arts
and Rhythm & Hues Studios. Most recently, Solomon taught at the Art Institute in Sunnyvale, where he served as the academic department
director of game art, animation and visual effects. He also sits on the national committee for ACM SIGGRAPH.

"Cogswell is uniquely positioned to offer game development students a real-world educational experience," says Solomon. "With a student body that includes computer engineering, audio engineering and digital arts majors, Cogswell is one of the few schools with the right mixture of students to actually make games."
