Image Resources to open 'annex'

WOODLAND HILLS, CA — Image Resources Film & Video (www.ImageResources.net) is in the process of putting the finishing touches on what the company describes as an oversized "homebase" edit suite that will be designed specifically for long-form post, including feature and documentary editorial. The new suite is an annex to Image Resources' existing offline editorial, finishing, and sound facilities. The space includes a large, primary editing room, an assistant/support bullpen, a private office, a private bathroom and exclusive, secure entry.

"Projects that span several months require more than just a couple of rooms in someone's offices or home  — they need a private and secure creative and productive space that the editor, director, and support staff can call their own,” notes Image Resources’ president, Dave Moorman. "We now have an exciting new way to meet that need in a cost-effective way."

The West Valley location (on Topanga Canyon by Ventura Boulevard) is conveniently located for directors and editors who live in the Valley, Santa Monica/Malibu, and points west, like Calabasas, Hidden Hills, and Westlake Village.

Encino-based producer Dan Forer of ESPN Films' documentary Free Spirits, spent eight months at the facility during post production.
"Having on-site support was important to me, plus having so many great restaurants and services within walking distance helped keep us comfortable and focused on the creative process," says Forer.

According to Moorman, Forer's project was the catalyst for building the new suite, "An exclusive space with all the benefits of being associated with a full post facility was the natural extension for a project of this type."

Equipment packages include Avid MediaComposer 7, various shared storage configurations, and add-on gear as required (tape ingest/output, LTO backup, transcoding stations, etc.). Other services available from Image Resources include finishing, Symphony and DaVinci Resolve color timing, and complete 5.1 audio post.

In related news, IR has been supplying Avid systems to the TNT reality series LifeFlight, which they set up on the Sunset Strip. Last year, the studio produced and posted Hub's Majors & Minors kids music reality series. In addition, the studio recently finished audio recording for EA Sports for their upcoming UFC game with Joe Rogan.
