SUPER BOWL: Mirada posts 'Crackin' Style'

LOS ANGELES — Mirada provided post services for Wonderful Pistachios’s Super Bowl spot featuring artist Psy. Directed by MTh's Mathew Cullen, the :30 Crackin' Style was conceived by agency Fire Station and aired during the third quarter of the game. The spot taps Psy’s “Gangnam Style” track, which was the first YouTube video to reach one billion hits.

Guillermo Navarro served as DP on the project, which was edited by Fred Fouquet at Mirada. The studio also handled animation and VFX for the project. John Fragomeni served as head of VFX and animation.  Jonah Hall was VFX supervisor and Judy Bowers was VFX producer.
Brad Hayes supervised CG.

CG generalists included Marcelo Cermak, Ben Lopez and Ken Pellegrino. Matt Shadis served as designer/animator. Michael Maker and Jared Sanders handled tracking. Roto artists included Zac Chowdhury, Megan Gaffney and Shih-Lin Wu. Nuke compositing was performed by Montana Casey and Josh McGuire. David Stern, Alan Latteri, Mark Renton, Pilon Lectez, Todd Helmsley and Fefo Souza all worked as Flame artists.
