AJA adds high frame rate support to 'Io 4K'

GRASS VALLEY, CA — AJA Video Systems (www.aja.com) has released a free software update for its Io 4K professional I/O device. Io 4K is a Thunderbolt 2-equipped solution for working in the latest 4K workflows. The new V.10.5.1 Mac software driver package adds 4K/UHD high frame rate support

With the latest update, the Io 4K now supports 50, 59.94 and 60fps at 4K (4096x2160) and UltraHD (3840x2160) resolutions. This high frame rate support is important for 4K and UltraHD broadcast and motion picture workflows. The V.10.5.1 software also adds new format support into the AJA DataCalc desktop app, and support for progressive (P) v. Psf selection in AJA Control Panel software. In addition, overall performance and format support enhancements are passed on to Io XT, Io Express, T-TAP, and the current Kona lineup of capture cards.

Io 4K offers a broad range of professional video and audio connectivity. The solution connects to any Thunderbolt 2-enabled device, such as the new Mac Pro, and offers an additional Thunderbolt 2 port for daisy-chaining other peripherals. Io 4K is priced at $1,995.
