Amsterdam's Pivot Audio opens LA boutique

LOS ANGELES — Pivot Audio (, which writes and produces original music and sound design for visual content, has opened a new LA studio. Founded in Amsterdam in 2008 by composer Guy Amitai, the company has steadily grown its US work, including the recent Coca-Cola Super Bowl spot, Make It Happy via Wieden+Kennedy. The addition of the new boutique in Los Angeles will allow Pivot to streamline its services for US clients moving forward.

Pivot is set up for commercial, experiential, or feature work. The company works with a diverse network of composers and artists worldwide, helping to provide fresh sound with an original perspective. The new LA facility will work in close collaboration with Pivot’s Amsterdam studio to provide clients with around-the-clock service.

In addition to its work for Coke, Pivot has contributed to projects for Nike, Adidas, Heineken, Jack Daniels, McDonald’s, Pepsi, EA, Mercedes, BMW and Toyota. Its broadcaster clients including BBC, Disney, Nickelodeon, Discovery Channel, NBC, MTV, Fox, and National Geographic.

“Sound is so personal and tied to specific emotions and moments, so the most important thing for us is being able to work as closely as we can with clients to understand their vision,” says Amitai. “At Pivot our clients are partners in the process, and we aim to be completely accessible and build the intimacy it takes to produce the very best creative. We’ve already worked on many projects in the US and as we move forward as a company, it makes sense for us to finally establish a permanent physical presence here.”
