Biscuit Filmworks signs director Ayse Altinok

LOS ANGELES Biscuit Filmworks (www.biscuitfilmworks.com ) has announced the addition of Ayse Altinok to its directorial roster. Altinok is a Turkish-born director whose short films and commercials have been recognized with honors from the Cannes Film Festival, Clios, AICP and others. She joins Biscuit FIlmworks from Weiden + Kennedy, Portland where she worked as an art director and also directed projects for Nike.

Altinok's unique style is informed by her art school background, 10 years of experience with Weiden + Kennedy both in Amsterdam and Portland, and short film, commercial and music video projects. Altinok 's first short film, Hortum was an official selection at The Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner, and also screened at over seven other film festivals around the world. Her second short film, The Particulars was also screened at Cannes, and won Best Drama and Best Actor at the Oregon Independent Film Festival. The emotional narrative and visually rich overtones in her work are evidenced in recent projects, A Day At the Mall Reminds Me of America, a short film created for MotionPoems, and Katie, a music video for rap artist Beedy. She got her start in advertising as a senior creative at Nike and later as an art director on projects for clients that included Coca-Cola, Levi's, Escada, EA, P&G and more.
