Frank Bluestein heading up Visual Data's new LA facility

LOS ANGELES — Visual Data Media Services has opened a new post production operation in Los Angeles to facilitate episodic TV series. Visual Data Creative Services (www.visualdatamedia.com) offers electronic dailies, online editing with Avid and Smoke, visual effects and distribution services. The studio also offers realtime remote color correction, allowing a show’s DPs and producers to collaborate closely with the post production team without having to leave the set.

Executive VP Frank Bluestein joined Visual Data earlier this year and now heads up VDCS. The new division opens for business with two TV series: 20th Century Fox Television’s and ABC’s flagship Modern Family, and CBS’s comedy series, Life In Pieces, starring James Brolin and Colin Hanks. VDCS is recruiting post talent to help handle the expected volume of business, and will be announcing several new hires shortly.

“I’ve spent a large part of my career in TV post and I know there’s a real need for a service that brings together technology and talent in a highly collaborative post production environment,” says Bluestein. “Our personalized service is driven entirely by the individual needs of clients and productions. We care deeply about getting it not just right, but award-winningly perfect. It’s important to us that our clients know we are as committed to the end product as they are.”

Visual Data Media Services has 20 years of experience in the repurposing and distribution of content for all media outlets, including domestic syndication, network broadcast, international distribution and VOD for studios, distributors and platforms. In December 2014, Visual Data acquired a majority stake in London-based Re:fine in a deal that provided both partners with access to each other’s markets, client bases, technologies and infrastructure.
