'Game of Thrones,' 'AHS: Freak Show' lead Emmy nominees

LOS ANGELES – The 67th Emmy Awards nominees were announced today, honoring excellence in the field of television. HBO’s Game of Thrones again received the most nominations with 24, while FX’s American Horror Story: Freak Show received 19 and HBO’s Olive Kitteridge received 13. The Awards will be presented on Sunday, September 20th in Los Angeles.

In the Outstanding Special Visual Effects category, the nominees are Black Sails, The Flash, Game of Thrones, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, and Vikings. In the Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role category, the nominees are American Horror Story: Freak Show, Boardwalk Empire, Gotham, Marvel’s Daredevil and The Walking Dead.

For Outstanding Main Title Design, the nominees include American Horror Story: Freak Show, Bosch, Halt and Catch Fire, Manhattan, Olive Kitteridge and Marvel’s Daredevil.



For Outstanding Picture Editing for Reality Programming, the nominees are Deadliest Catch, The Amazing Race, Project Runway, Project Runway All Stars, Shark Tank and Survivor.

Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series nominees include Game of Thrones, Better Call Saul and Mad Men. And Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series nominees include The Big Bang Theory, Hot In Cleveland, Mike & Molly, and Two Broke Girls.

Nominees for Outstanding Animated Program include Archer, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Over the Garden Wall, and South Park.

On the audio front, nominees in the Sound Editing for a Series category include Black Sails, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Gotham, Marvel’s Daredevil and The Walking Dead.
