Panavision invests in Panasonic's VariCam 35

NEWARK, NJ — Panavision (www.Panavision.com) has added to its equipment inventory with the purchase of ten VariCam 35 4K camera/recorders from Panasonic, here.

Panasonic's VariCam 35 is designed for high-end filmmaking, commercials and episodic production as well as live 4K events. The camera captures images in multiple formats ranging from 4K raw to more practical 4K, UHD, 2K, HD and HD ProRes. The camera’s dual native ISOs of 800 and 5000 allow DPs to capture high image quality in extremely low light situations. In addition, the VariCam 35 can record three simultaneous video formats (4K/2K/proxy, or UHD/ HD/proxy). With an optional high-speed 4K uncompressed raw recorder from Codex, users can capture uncompressed 4K VariCam RAW (V-RAW) at up to 120fps.

“We're pleased to add the new Panasonic VariCam 35 camera, customized with Panavision Modular Accessories, to our fleet.” says EVP of global sales & marketing Bob Harvey. “Offering this new camera builds on our history of supporting the filmmaker with the latest creative tools to further enhance their story telling capabilities.  Panavision carries a full portfolio of state of the art digital cameras at all our facilities around the world, creating continuity no matter where filmmakers choose to shoot.”
