MIAMI — Red Digital Cinema will host two-day event featuring Emmy Award-winning cinematographer, producer, and wildlife TV host, Andy B. Casagrande IV. The free event will take place at the company’s Miami store on Wednesday, September 16 (9am-5pm) and Thursday, September 17 (9am-3pm) and will offer tips on best practices for shooting underwater.
Casagrande has made a name for himself as a top underwater cinematographer who regularly shoots footage for Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. He will present an interactive screening on how he uses his Epic Dragon to capture underwater footage, and Red representatives will also be on-hand to highlight additional underwater techniques, including shooting with the DSMC H20 OLPF and DragonColor2.
The course will cover the Gates Setup, Test, and Operations (STO) technique, a valuable skill set recognized throughout the underwater production community. This course will also move to a local pool where applications and best practices will be demonstrated.
