Formosa Group to move to new campus

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Hollywood-based post sound company Formosa Group (www.formosagroup.com) will be moving its home base in early 2017 from The Lot Studios in West Hollywood to the new creative office campus, Hollywood 959, located at 959 North Seward Street in the heart of the Hollywood Media District. The award-winning independent post sound house will be based on two floors of the Class A LEED Silver Certified East Wing building.

"We are thrilled about moving to this wonderful new location,” says Robert C. Rosenthal, CEO, Formosa Group. “Hollywood 959 affords us the opportunity to centralize a portion of our creative and operational talent within a brand new entertainment campus. The Formosa community will grow even stronger in this collaborative workspace. Developer Jerry Snyder recognizes the value of companies such as Formosa and I look forward to establishing ourselves at 959 Seward.”

Formosa Group’s over 30,000 square foot presence at Hollywood 959 will include sound design, sound and music editorial, mixing and ADR capabilities along with administrative and support staff. Hollywood 959 is designed specifically for entertainment tenants. Developed and built by the J.H. Snyder Company, construction was completed this past March. The creative campus features large outdoor gathering areas, an on-site commissary, ample parking and stunning views of the Hollywood Hills.

Since opening in 2013, Formosa Group has grown from a handful of feature film sound supervisors to an all-encompassing post sound company offering talent-driven services through its features, broadcast, music, interactive and villa (commercials) divisions. Recent Formosa projects include feature films Star Trek: Beyond, Conjuring 2, Batman v Superman; the video game “Uncharted 4;” the Apple commercial “Timer;” and Game of Thrones Season 6.

Formosa will continue to operate its other facilities in West Hollywood, Santa Monica, West LA and Burbank.
