Lenovo intros new workstations & performance tuner

MORRISVILLE, NC — Lenovo (www.thinkworkstations.com) has introduced a new entry-level workstation - the ThinkStation P410 - which features the latest high-performance Intel Xeon E5-1600 v4 processors with Intel Turbo Max 3.0 technology. The P410 can support Nvidia’s Quadro M5000 graphics card. The company has also updated its P510 single socket workstation (pictured, above), which also features Intel Xeon E5-1600 v4 processors with Intel Turbo Max 3.0 technology, while offering support for Nvidia’s Quadro M6000 graphics card, as well as the most memory and storage capacity in its class.

The launch of the ThinkStation P410 and P510 follows the April release of the dual-processor ThinkStation P710 and P910, which featuring the latest Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors, and completes the company’s desktop workstation portfolio refresh.

The company has also introduced the Lenovo Performance Tuner (LPT), which is designed to help users get the most out of their workstation. LPT enables customers to fine-tune their individual experience based on their specific software’s demands on the hardware. It’s available for free to customers and offers power management, resource monitoring and tuning, graphics management and BIOS management. In addition, thanks to Processor Affinity, users now have the ability to designate an application to run on the specific processor core(s) they want to fine tune the system workload. This feature optimizes power and resources for both single-threaded or multi-threaded applications. LPT has predefined application profiles for some of the top applications that adjust and manage the resources required by that application to run optimally on the workstation. LPT is available as a download.
