Therapy adds veteran editor Steve Prestemon

LOS ANGELES — Therapy Studios (http://therapystudios.com) has added editor Steve Prestemon to its team. Prestemon has literally hundreds of commercials to his credit, and has also worked on documentaries, features, trailers and music videos. His recent work includes high profile spots for Mercedes, Samsung and Hyundai, in addition to three feature documentaries.

“Steve brings a particular talent for music-driven visual storytelling, as well a distinct documentary style,” says Therapy partner/executive producer Joe DiSanto. Prestemon’s storytelling and narrative expertise can be seen in multimedia campaign for Target that consists of six short films and 19 television commercials. The campaign highlights Target’s charitable giving and new environmental focus.

“I’m interested in making quality, arresting work that tells a story,” Prestemon explains. “I’m drawn to a human element, and the particular magic of when that human element is rendered through film.”

Prestemon studied documentary directing at the Columbia College and made a number of films of his own before signing on as an editor at companies such as Cosmo Street and Whitehouse Post. He has edited the documentary features Wild In The Streets, SneakerHeadz (SXSW 2015), CodeGirl, and Meet the Hitlers. Currently, Prestemon is in the final stages of cutting the full-length documentary Westerly, which was co-directed by Alan White and Jamie Brisick.
