SANTA MONICA, CA — Butcher director David Henegar recently completed work on another spot for Athene Holding, following his work on their inaugural piece, Be Brave. The new
Game Changer spot uses VFX to illustrate the idea that Athene breaks free from traditional thinking within the financial world.
The spot opens on a wide shot of businessmen and women being led around like marionettes. A group of puppet masters control their subjects from high above the city’s financial center. One puppet realizes the controlling situation and fights back, causing the master to tumble to the city street below.
In addition to directing the spot, Henegar also edited the piece, which features visual effects that were designed by Ben Walsh of Method LA. Mitchell Amundsen served as cinematographer, shooting at 8K on a Panavision XL2. Kelly Henson assisted on the edit, which was performed using Adobe Premiere Pro. Rob Van was post producer at Butcher.
Method credits include Flame artist Andy Dill, EP Stephanie Gilgar and producer Diana De Vries. The spot was colored by Stefan Sonnefeld at Company 3 and was mixed by Ken Chastain at Pixel Farm in Minneapolis.
