HOLLYWOOD — Bob Festa has re-joined the Encore Hollywood team as senior colorist. His career credits span commercials, features and music videos, and he will now focus full time on episodic TV content.
Presently, Festa is the colorist on executive producer Michael Bay’s The Last Ship (TNT) and Marvel’s Runaways (Hulu), for which he also handles the HDR grade. In collaboration with Encore senior colorist Tony D’Amore, Festa has helped pioneer a simultaneous HDR/SDR workflow that allows for a color-once, distribute-any workflow.
In his 20-plus-year career, Festa has colored more than 20,000 national television spots, celebrated music videos, and feature films, as well as worked with iconic directors and cinematographers. He is a leading member of Colorist Society International, CSI and the recipient of DaVinci’s “Master Colorist Award” as the “Commercial Colorist of the Year.”
Throughout his career, Festa has contributed to the development of many of the color tools used in post facilities today. He’s also mentored numerous young artists who have gone on to careers as successful colorists themselves.
