Former MPC financial director appointed to Outpost VFX board

BOURNEMOUTH, UK, 28/03/2018 – Tony Camilleri has joined the board of directors at Outpost VFX. He spent    almost 30 years at The Moving Picture Company (MPC), during which he played a key role in supporting senior management as finance director in London. Some of Camilleri’s key accomplishments include the move into film VFX, MPC becoming a global operation, sale of the business from ITV to Technicolor, and expansion to thousands of employees, making MPC one of the largest studios in the world.

Outpost VFX delivers high-end VFX for film, TV and commercials worldwide from its 80-seat studio in Bournemouth, UK.

“I am really excited by the opportunity to join Outpost VFX as a non-exec and I am looking forward to helping a young, creative and enthusiastic management team navigate both the many opportunities and various challenges thrown up by the dynamic industry we work in,” says Camilleri.

After qualifying as an accountant, he spent a small time in practice before moving to Trafalgar House Plc to work
within the building construction division. After four years he left to join MPC.

“When I worked with Tony 12 years ago at MPC, I could never have predicted a future where he sits on our board offering priceless advice and structure,” says Duncan McWilliam, founder and CEO of Outpost VFX. “Tony’s knowledge of accounting, finance and the business of visual effects is some of the most valuable in the world. He was a key player throughout the history of MPC. Whilst our goals are more modest, his steady hand at the Outpost tiller will help us navigate the complex world of finance and make the right decisions for the company’s steady growth and international development. I couldn’t be happier to make such a high-calibre addition to the Outpost VFX board.”
