May 18th Editors' Lounge to feature Tektronix, Re:Vision Effects & NetStairs demos

BURBANK, CA — The upcoming Editors’ Lounge (www.editorslounge.com) will feature demonstrations from Tektronix, Re:Vision Effects and NetStairs. Set to take place on Friday, May 18th, the free event will be held at AlphaDogs Post Production (1612 W. Olive Ave., Suite 200, Burbank, CA  91506).

Steven Holmes, senior video application engineer at Tektronix, will demonstrate the benefits of using external waveform monitors in getting optical picture quality when color correcting. Attendees will learn how to properly look at 4K and HD waveforms, correct settings for HDR and important differences between Dolby Vision, HDR 10 and HDR 10+. In addition, Holmes will share invaluable tips and tricks when using a waveform monitor, including how to use a Luma Qualified Vector (LQC), how and when to use color gamut displays, and examples of how freeze and overlay tools can make two shots look like they belong together, even when shot by different cameras, at different times of the day.

Lori Freitag, training and content manager, and Anthony Magliocco, VP of business development, will be on hand to share time-saving ideas using RE:Vision Effects plug-ins in Adobe Premiere Pro. While Premiere Pro is well suited for editing,  some effects are not possible or very difficult to accomplish inside the program. Freitag will show that by using Dynamic Link, users can quickly jump to After Effects, create the effects needed, and resume editing in a timely manner. The demo will cover three of Re: Vision Effects most popular plug-ins: Twixtor, Re:Match and Re:Lens.

And David Vernon of Vernon’s Vision, who is the global agent representative for NetStairs, a leader in WebRTC (real time communication) will host a demo via an online “Interactive Real Time” Internet connection. NetStairs technologies address the problems of production and post production companies being able to share globally in realtime, with no latency or delay, anytime of day and anywhere in the world where an internet signal is available. Teams globally are able to join and share editing collaboration, all in realtime, by entering DMR’s, or Digital Media Rooms. Dr. Ahmad Moradi, chairman and CEO of NetStairs will also be presenting full demonstrations via a Digital Media Room, showing first hand the application and efficiency of DMR technology.

The Editors’ Lounge opens at 6:30pm, with presentations beginning at 7:00pm. Food is provided but attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite beverage. To register, visit: http://www.editorslounge.com/nextevent.html.
