Ncam receives equity investment, adds to management team

LONDON — Ncam Technologies, the developer of augmented reality technology for the entertainment industry, has received a significant injection of funds via YFM Equity Partners, the specialist private equity fund manager. Ncam has also appointed two key members of staff to its management team, further supporting the company’s growth strategy. The company has plans to continue hiring in the coming months for additional positions across multiple departments globally.

The funds will be used to support the development of new products, expand the global team and help the business extend its reach into new vertical markets as well as new territories, especially the USA and China where new office openings are planned for later in the year. Ncam has appointed Mike Grieve chief commercial officer, whose duties will be to further build on Ncam’s strong reputation and drive global growth. Grieve brings over 25 years of media industry experience to the CCO role, most recently from Red Digital Cinema, where he spent nearly three years as sales director, EMEA. He has also held senior sales director roles with creative companies, including Filmlight, Autodesk and Quantel.

In addition, Christina Williams has been appointed head of marketing, in an effort to strengthen the company’s global brand and communication channels. Williams was senior marketing manager at Red Digital Cinema EMEA, and brings a wide range of marketing expertise gained from companies such as G-Technology and Game.

“As augmented reality and realtime visual effects continue their rapid growth, more and more industries are seeing the opportunities that they bring,” says Nic Hatch, CEO of Ncam. “This additional funding will help us develop our award-winning technologies still further and improve the way we bring them to diverse market sectors around the world. The appointments of Mike and Christina will also help us realize our growth ambitions and reach new audiences, and we are actively seeking additional global talent to join our dynamic team.”

The Ncam team will be at NAB 2018 (Booth C5629) showing a series of new products, details of which will be announced shortly.
