Butter creating original score for Fox's Bless The Harts

NEW YORK CITY — Butter Music + Sound (www.gimmebutter.com), with studios in Manhattan, Los Angeles and Berlin, is creating the original score for Bless The Harts, a new, animated, half-hour comedy special centered on a rich-in-spirit southern family.

Butter CCO and owner Andrew Sherman composed original music for each episode, as well as the show’s main theme, with Butter’s Los Angeles-based EP Annick Mayer running production. All of the music was tracked with a live band Sherman put together for specifically the show. The music evokes a nostalgic grunge feel with some flavor of the American south.

The series premiered on Septemebr 29th with the “Hug N‘ Bugs” episode. The show features the voice talents of Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jillian Bell and Ike Barinholtz. Bless The Harts is a co-production of Fox Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television. Emily Spivey created the series and wrote the pilot.

Butter is working on the full season, which will span 13 episodes. While each episode’s number of music cues ranges, on average, there are 30 cues per episode, each around :10 in length. There are also original songs that Sherman wrote, which were then animated to. Instrumentation is that of a classic rock band, with drums, bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, keysboards and saxophone.
