NORWICH, UK — FXhome (www.fxhome.com) has released a short Star Wars-themed trailer that was entirely produced by the FXhome team. The passion project pays homage to the soon-to-be-released film,Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and is titled
FXhome’s The Rise of the Dark Side. The project is designed to showcase the power and versatility of the company’s flagship editing and VFX platform, HitFilm, and its ability to enable anyone — regardless of skill level — to create unique, compelling and engaging content.
FXhome is releasing a Master Class series of tutorials that are designed to teach the FXhome and HitFilm community how to recreate the VFX and stunning imagery that appears throughout Rise of the Darkside. The tutorials will be published to its YouTube channel every Thursday until January 9th.
The Master Class covers a number of Star Wars-themed VFX creations, including how to create a Star Wars-style title; the use of 3D tracking; and the creation of The Force lightning effect. Additional tutorials will cover how to use Meshroom to create digital doubles; compositing simulations from Blender to HitFilm; Rise of the Dark Side director’s commentary; and overcoming hurdles during the production process.
