Lumiere Awards to recognize immersive storytelling

BURBANK, CA — The Advanced Imaging Society (https://theadvancedimagingsociety.com) will present the 10th Annual Lumiere Awards on January 30th at 7:00pm. The Lumiere Awards recognize outstanding achievement in the creation of immersive storytelling using advanced visual technologies, including Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, High Frame Rate and Stereo 3D.

This year’s event will be held at the Steven J. Ross Theater on the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank, CA.

The Harold Lloyd Award, recognizing distinguished achievement in storytelling, will be presented to Christopher McQuarrie. McQuarrie is known for his work as the director of Mission Impossible: Fallout and Jack Reacher, among many others. Last year, the award was presented to Pixar producer Darla K. Anderson (Coco, Toy Story 3, Cars, Monsters Inc.).

The Lumiere Statuette is made by the R.S. Owens Company of Chicago and depicts the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, lifting her head to greet the morning light. She is made of bronze and covered with gold.
