PORTLAND, OR — Red Giant (www.redgiant.com) has released Universe 3.1, an update to the company’s GPU-accelerated plug-ins for editors and motion graphics artists. Red Giant Universe 3.1 introduces three new tools for animating motion graphics to the collection: Numbers, Array Gun and Progresso. Also new to Universe 3.1 are 35 presets for HUD Components, a tool for quickly adding animated heads-up display elements into shots, bringing it to a total of over 65 ready-to-go animations. The latest update brings the collection to over 80 tools supported across eight host applications.
Numbers allows users to render and animate a wide variety of numbers, including currency, percentage, date and time. The Array Gun tool generates animated motion graphics based on grids, shapes and lines, and features built-in animation functions. And Progresso can be used to generate animatable progress bars in many different styles.
Red Giant Universe 3.1 is available for $199 annual or $30 monthly. Academic pricing is also available for $99 annually. The plug-ins run on Windows and OS X, and within appliations that include After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, Motion, Media Composer, Vegas Pro, Davinci Resolve 14 and HitFilm Pro.
