DEAN GONZALEZ, JON JACOBSEN JOIN CUTTING ROOM AND ITS DESIGN ARM

VENICE - Creative editorial company Cutting Room (www.cuttingroom.com) and its graphic design sister studio Room (www.room.tv) have hired editor Dean Gonzalez and producer Jon Jacobsen.

Gonzalez joins Cutting Room after a six-year tenure at Avenue Edit. His commercial credits include spots for Chevy, Kawasaki and Sears, and music videos for Zwan, Trail of the Dead, Guster, Aerosmith, Snoop Dogg and Kid Rock. After three years as an assistant at Avenue, Gonzalez began acquiring clients of his own including Foote, Cone & Belding, Cohn & Co. and Ogilvy. He turned his attention towards music videos because of his musical background as a drummer in several bands.

Jon Jacobsen comes to Cutting Room and Room as a producer after six years of freelancing in post production, visual effects and graphic design for various editorial and visual effects companies, including Cosmo Street, Stuart Waks & Co., A52 and Digital Domain. Jacobsen has worked on a variety of projects ranging from The Jimi Hendrix Experience Museum in Seattle to a 70mm all-CG motion ride for Disney to commercials for ad agencies Chiat/Day, Saatchi & Saatchi, Fallon and Hal Riney, as well as on music videos for Tool, NSync and No Doubt.
