GRIOT EDITORIAL CUTS OVEN MITT SPOTS FOR ARBY'S

SOUTHFIELD, MI - Grace & Wild's (800-451-6010) Griot Editorial and Postique divisions were recently called on by agency Doner to complete creative editorial and film transfer for a series of national Arby's spots.

The 15 commercials each feature Arby's new animated Oven Mitt character, introducing him as the newest employee at the fast food chain. Actor Tom Arnold voices the Mitt who sings praises about the food chain's sandwiches while working side by side with fellow Arby's employees.

Postique colorist Eric Maurer handled the film transfer for the project, which was shot in Toronto by Avion Films and director Tim Hamilton. Maurer used a Philips Spirit telecine and an da Vinci 2K color corrector. The Oven Mitt character was animated and finished at Vinton Studios in Portland, OR. Griot editors Jim Talbot, Louis Lyne and Dave Mariani along with associate editors Kevin Stewart and Dan Succarde teamed up on the creative editorial. The studio now features PC-based Avid Adrenaline systems which replace their existing Mac-based Media Composer 9000s.
