NEW YORK - Discreet Inferno artist Fred Ruckel of Stitch, here in New York, recently provided online services for a new Mountain Dew commercial out of agency Spike/DDB. In addition to handling visual effects and online editorial, Ruckel was also a creative director on the project, noting that the whole spot was executed in just nine days.
Animators Boris Ustav and Kim Lee created the commercial's 3D can, 3D tunnel, railroad tracks and 3D glow effects. Nick Mavroson shot spark elements, which were added to the can. And designer Anna Minkkinen created the end title with the lightning bolt.
