MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Twist Branded Content and Dv-ent Artist Group recently teamed up with the Science Museum of Minnesota to produce and post the first in a series of high definition programs. "Future Frontiers: Mars" is a 20-minute HD production that celebrates the Mars Exploration Rovers Mission and reveals many of the details behind the $820 million NASA project. The program will be distributed to museums and planetariums globally.
Executive producers Melissa Butts and Joel Halvorson, along with director Barry Kimm, led the Twist Branded Content team, going on location to NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab and the Kennedy Space Center to shoot interviews, launches and landings. The production crew used a Sony CineAlta 900 HDCAM camera, recording in the 1080i format. The Twist team also created HD animations.
Dv-ent Artist Group's Greg Browning handled the offline edit with Mike Sandness taking care of the HD conform. HDCAM tapes were loaded into an Avid at low resolution for the offline. Once an EDL was created, the program was posted in high definition using Apple's Final Cut Pro.
