REALITY TV: 'CASINO,' 'BENEFACTOR' POSTING WITH NITRIS

TEWKSBURY, MA - Avid DS Nitris systems are being used to post both Fox's "Casino" and ABC's "The Benefactor," two primetime reality television shows that are being shot, posted and broadcast in high definition.

"Casino" is reality TV pioneer Mark Burnett's unscripted drama that premiered this past summer. The production team shoots in 720p HD on Panasonic VariCam HD Cinema cameras and edits on 15 Avid Media Composer systems that share 8TB of storage on an Avid Unity MediaNetwork system. Finishing and mastering is handled in HD on a DS Nitris system at LA Digital.

"The Benefactor" stars billionaire Mark Cuban and is shot on HDCAM at 1080i and editing on Avid Media Composer systems. Post production for the show takes place at LA's Matchframe Video, where Avid DS Nitris operators color-correct each episode within the system and create both HD and SD masters for simulcast on ABC. Matchframe Video also creates audio mixes for each show using Digidesign Pro Tools DAWs.
